6th Form@PA strongly believes in providing opportunities for all which supports students in reaching their full potential. This is underpinned by quality careers advice and guidance which forms the bulk of students’ tutor activities. This will not only provide information about Post 18 options, but also support students identifying the necessary steps to reaching their goals.
Students therefore have tutor sessions covering:
- Transition to Sixth Form Study
- Study Skills
- Post 18 Options
- UCAS
- Financial Management
Over the course of their Sixth Form studies, students will be invited to university visits and tours. They will also receive input from industry experts as guest speakers. This aims to help pupils make informed choices about their next steps.
Enrichment
Students are encouraged to work beyond their curriculum studies in order to develop employability skills and interests. This comes in the form of areas such as:
- Charity Work
- Communication work
- Mentoring and supporting younger students
- Community matters
The skills gained through the planning and delivery of these projects helps to provide individual skills which stand out on future applications.

Students have access to the careers platform Unifrog. Here, they will find guidance on a range of Post 18 options all in one place. It allows students to explore a wealth of opportunities which are open to them allowing them to make informed choices about their next steps.
