The donation helped provide essential support to local families during the festive season.
Plympton Academy’s donation was the largest single contribution Plympton Foodbank has ever received, making up over 70% of the total donations collected during the festive season. This remarkable achievement highlights the power of community collaboration and the Academy’s dedication to making a meaningful difference to those in need.
Through nurturing compassion and encouraging active community involvement, Plympton Academy, part of the Thinking Schools Academy Trust, is committed to creating an environment where students develop the courage to effect change, the curiosity to explore the world around them, and the determination to create positive impacts.
Mr Shaun Willis, Headteacher at Plympton Academy, expressed immense pride saying:
"At Plympton Academy, we believe in expanding our world by demonstrating compassion and courage in everything we do. This remarkable donation reflects our academy’s core values and our commitment to our community.
“I couldn’t be prouder of our students, parents, staff, and the wider Plympton Academy family for showing what can be achieved when we come together for a common purpose."
Phil Smith, Coordinator, and Brena Lowe, Distribution Lead from Plympton Foodbank, visited the Academy to personally collect the donations. Mr Smith commented:
"What a fantastic outcome! Thank you very much, Plympton Academy.”
