To help keep all pupils safe, please ensure the school has up-to-date information about any allergies your child may have. Accurate allergy information enables us to put appropriate support plans in place, train staff effectively, and respond quickly in an emergency. We all have a part to play in creating a safe environment, including following our nut-aware policy and being mindful of the food brought into school. If your child has an allergy, please contact the school or update their details via Arbor. Be Allergy Aware and Save A Life - see more here

Expand Your World: Discover Plympton Academy at our Open Evening

September 9, 2026 08:00am

Following another record-breaking year of GCSE success, we're delighted to invite prospective families to discover what makes Plympton Academy such a special place to learn, grow and thrive.

Our Open Evening on Thursday 8th October is the perfect opportunity to experience life at our school and meet our friendly staff and students. With the first presentation from our Headteacher, Mr S. Willis, taking place from 4pm, you'll be able to explore our facilities, see our inspiring classrooms and learn more about the values which shape the lives of our young people.

At this year's GCSE results day, we celebrated our strongest ever results for the second consecutive year, with more than 70% of students achieving a grade 4 or above in English and Maths. These exceptional outcomes reflect our commitment to academic excellence and personal development; ensuring every young person who walks through our doors can fulfil their potential.

Families considering secondary school options are warmly encouraged to join us to see how we can help your child Expand Their World

What makes Plympton Academy unique?

At Plympton Academy, education is about so much more than academic outcomes. It's about helping young people develop their own confidence and character, how they learn to explore new possibilities, and how they embrace new perspectives. This helps our students pursue their dreams and in doing so, take pride in their achievements.

We're proud to place great importance on student voice at our school, where young people talk with confidence about their learning and reflect on their progress. Teachers support them with this process and in doing so, ensures young people understand the ideas discussed in class and can write about them articulately.

Guided by our four core values of Community, Courage, Curiosity and Compassion, students gain an understanding of what they're learning and how they're growing as individuals. This culture helps every student feel supported, listened to, and valued as a member of our community.

Through the embodiment of our school values, we help students to 'Expand Their World', so they see a future of possibility and go beyond their comfort zone.

How can I learn more about Plympton Academy?
