Press coverage about malicious hoax calls to schools

We are aware of today’s Evening Herald article about hoax phone calls to schools.

We would like to assure parents and carers that Plympton Academy has not received any such malicious telephone calls.

The Police and the Local Authority are dealing centrally with the reported calls and Plymouth City Council has issued the following statement:

‘We are aware of a series of malicious communications to schools across the country. Police and schools take hoaxes extremely seriously. We have been in contact with the Police and the Local Authority and have continued to ensure the safety of our pupils and staff. We have policies and procedures in place to cover incidents of this nature. We understand that the Police will continue to investigate who is responsible.’
