Students from Plympton Academy handed over a cheque recently to the Help for Heroes charity.

The pupils organised cake and plant sales to raise the £93.

Sam Kellond from the charity visited the school to explain to the pupils what Help for Heroes does and accept the cheque.

"I would like to say a big thank you to all the students and staff at Plympton Academy for their kind donation. We really can’t fulfil the work we do at Help for Heroes without you. Thank you for being part of “The Force for Good,” said Sam Kellond.

Fourteen year old student, Dylan Cook said, “I am really glad that Sam came in today to show us what Help for Heroes does to help wounded, injured and sick veterans.”

His fellow student Max Clarke agreed that Sam’s visit really helped them understand the good work the charity does.

School Services Family Coordinator Martin Edmonds said: "Our service family students are extremely active in raising awareness and funds for services issues.  We were delighted to have a visit from Help for Heroes and hope to be able to work closely with them in future."
