We have rocked you!

Sell out audiences enjoyed the production of We Will Rock You in the
new Performing Arts block at Plympton Academy recently.

The musical is based on the songs of British rock band Queen and tells
the story of a group of Bohemians who struggle to restore the free
exchange of thought, fashion, and live music in a distant future where
everyone dresses, thinks and acts the same. Musical instruments and
composers are forbidden, and rock music is all but unknown.

“I wanted to create a rock experience where we would really explore
the potential of the audio visual equipment and open up as many
opportunities to students both in performance and production,” said
Director of Performing Arts and Director, Jo Crook.

The production included 20 songs, complex dance routines and some
technical wizardry.

“Everyone involved has worked incredibly hard through long cold
evenings and weekend rehearsals. They have shown real resilience,
drive and team spirit in putting this together,” said Jo Crook.
