There were ghostly goings on at Plympton Academy recently.

The school hall was transformed into a scary set for a Halloween party for Years 7 and 8.

Dressed as skeletons, witches cats, ghouls, mummies and wolves, the students took part in a fancy dress competition, a disco and a dance off, girls versus boys to the Grease mega mix.

Year 8 student, Aimee Ungless and Year 7 student, Charlie Edwards won the fancy dress competition, dressed up as the joker and the zombie bride.

There was also some face painting by members of the art department, Mrs Maria Romanski, and Miss Donna Hawkshaw.

The head of Year 7, Jo Pengelly and the head of Year 8, Jim Strachan led the dancing. They were ably assisted by the pastoral mentor for Year 7, Mrs Sarah Puleston and some Year 7 and 8 tutors, Miss Gemma Kneebone, Miss Claire Finch, Mr Richard Thompson, Mr Richard Harvey and Mr John Henson.

Students were able to buy snacks from the tuckshop, run by Principal, Lisa Boorman and her PA, Mrs Tracey Overton.
