Collapsed Learning Day

Ridgeway’s Collapsed Learning Days just seem to get better and better. The June day was jam-packed with on-site and off-site activities, guest speakers and exciting activities.

Year 7 were treated to a day based on learning about the theatre. Following a visit to TR2 they made their own shadow puppets and worked in groups on creating their own mini-productions.

Yr8 headed off to Paignton Zoo to learn about evolution and conservation and to see the amazing collection of animals on show at one of the largest zoos in the country.

Staff at the zoo were hugely complimentary about our students: ‘This is one of the most polite and well-behaved school groups we have ever had. They are welcome back any time!’

Year 9 took part in a ‘Places of Worship’ trip to Plymouth City Centre and were given the opportunity to see first-hand a range of religious buildings and experience some of the rituals and practices associated with different religions.

And finally, Year 10 had the opportunity to choose from a carousel of activities including Boxercise and Engineering workshops.
